How to judge whether the bit needs to be replaced or not of CNC router machine

As one of the main machines of the panel furniture production line, the CNC router machine directly affects the effect of the finished product. During the long-term use of the CNC router machine, the bit will inevitably wear and tear, and the untimely replacement will affect the production efficiency and processing accuracy., but when to replace the bit can make full use of the value of the bit, which requires us to be able to reasonably grasp the bit wear.

1. According to the bit life table of CNC router machine (based on the number of processed workpieces), some equipment manufacturing companies or single-product mass production enterprises use it to guide production. This method is suitable for the production of expensive aerospace, steam turbines, and automotive key components such as engines. enterprise.

2. Looking at the bit of CNC router machine, when the rake face wears and cuts plastic materials, the chips and the rake face contact each other, which mainly forms crescent wear. When the flank face wears and cuts brittle materials, the contact length between the chip and the rake face is short, and the relative blunt circle of the blade makes the flank face wear more. When cutting steel with boundary wear, the main cutting edge is often close to the outer skin of the workpiece and the secondary cutting edge. Deeper grooves are ground on the flank near the tip.

3. Look at the CNC router machine processing. If there are intermittent irregular sparks during the processing, it means that the bit has been worn, and the bit can be changed in time according to the average life of the tool.

4. Look at the color and shape of the sawdust. If the color of the sawdust changes, it means that the processing temperature has changed, which may be the bit wear. Looking at the shape of the sawdust, the sawdust appears jagged on both sides, the sawdust is abnormally curled, and the sawdust becomes more finely divided. These phenomena are the basis for judging bit wear. Looking at the surface of the workpiece, there are bright traces, but the roughness and size have not changed much, which is actually the tool has been worn.

5. The CNC router machine listens to the sound, the processing vibration intensifies, and the bit will produce abnormal noise when the tool is not fast. Always pay attention to avoid “sticking the knife”, causing the workpiece to be scrapped. If the workpiece has serious burrs when the tool is cut out, the roughness is reduced, the size of the workpiece changes and other obvious phenomena are also the criteria for determining bit wear.
